Editorial Note
The Law Yearbook of China is a large and comprehensive must for English readers at home and abroad to understand and study the basic information about the construction of the socialist legal system in China. The Yearbook, with abundant information,focuses on legislation and justice in China and reflects the comprehensive situations of China’s socialist legal system construction from such aspects as lawmaking, law enforcement, legal publicity and education, and research on theories of legal science. All materials that appear in the Yearbook are provided by related central and local government sectors so that the content is complete, accurate and authoritative. The Law Yearbook of China (English Version 2017) mainly reflects the legal system construction in China in 2016. It includes the following columns: Special Reports;Legislature, Judicature and Arbitration; Laws of the People’s Republic of China; Treaties and Legal Aspects of China’s Diplomacy Work; Statistics; Chronology and Appendix. The information related to Taiwan Province is not included in this book. We are indebted to the relevant central and local government sectors, experts and scholars who have made great contributions to the editing work of the Law Yearbook of China.
